All About Longines Flagship Watches

Longines has a rich and distinguished history in watchmaking that is steeped in tradition. They have enjoyed unprecedented success in the horology industry thanks to the high quality of their watches. This is why the winged hourglass logo of the company inspires confidence in the buyers that they are buying a timeless timepiece.

Longines was founded by Auguste Agassiz in 1832. The headquarters of the company were set up in Saint-Imier, a small town in Switzerland. Les Longines was chosen as the location for the first factory of the company. It is also the place the company is named after. In a short span of time, Longines was able to build up a good reputation among the people as a reliable watchmaker.

Innovation is something that Longines prides itself upon. The company has been at the forefront of technological advancements in the horology field. From using the crown-wound mechanism to creating watches that can withstand the rigors of the deep sea, Longines has continuously tried to break boundaries. This trend has seen them release a diverse range of collections throughout their history.

While Longines is a luxury watch brand, its watches have remained comparatively affordable as compared to other luxury watch brands. It is the aim of the company to make watches that look elegant and exude quality without costing much. They have come up with watches for every occasion. The Longines Flagship collection is the company’s attempt to make dress watches. All the watches of this range can be worn with any dress.

The Flagship collection by Longines includes dress watches for both men and women. It is among the oldest collections released by the company and initially had manual movements. Recently, the Flagship range has been given an upgrade. All the watches of this collection have now been fitted with self-winding mechanical movements. The watches of the Flagship range come in a variety of dial sizes and colors.

The Longines Flagship collection came out in 1957. It captures the fashion style of that era and was introduced as the perfect dress watch for any occasion. The watches of this range have a simplistic elegance that gives them a classy and suave look. Due to its mesmerizing minimalist designs, the Flagship range became instantly popular among the people and is considered one of the most successful ranges of Longines.

However, this collection was losing its appeal among the newer generation since its watches were fitted with manual movements. Longines identified that and re-released this range with self-winding mechanical movements. This upgrade has made these classic timepieces a fan-favorite once more.
