Inspired by its signature model Nomos Tangente, the brand introduced a new collection, the Nomos Glashutte Tangomat in 2005. Similar to the original model, the Nomos Tangomat features the same sleek design, angular lugs, and clean dial in Bauhaus style. Yet the watch is equipped with a bigger case than the Tangente.

Debuted in 2005, the Nomos Tangomat collection was released as an upgraded version of the Nomos Tangente collection. The Tangomat watch is available in a series of variants that will definitely provide the perfect choice for the watch lovers with different needs.

These Nomos Tangomat watches are well crafted with high-quality metal. Incorporating its traditions of watchmaking, the brand created this watch with extraordinary and distinguished designs. Let’s take a deeper look at the features of the notable watch:

Case and Dial

Following the sleek design of its predecessor, the Tangente watch, the Nomos Glashutte Tangomat watch is equipped with a sophisticated combination of German craftsmanship and modern aesthetics. The most obvious difference between the Tangente and Tangomat watches is their case sizes. The Nomos Tangomat watch features a 40 mm polished stainless steel case that is larger than the Nomos Tangente. The watch is 11 mm thick and is 50 mm wide together with the lugs.

The case is equipped with quality scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass on the top and the back. Through the transparent case back, the wearer can admire the beautiful movement beating. To firmly secure the sophisticated Rhodium plated movement, the watch features six tempered blue screws to protect it.

The dial of the watch basically is in a simple and minimal design. It features clear Arabic numerals and hour markers with a contrasting colour subdial.

Movement

Another feature that differentiate the Nomos Tangomat from others is their movements. Unlike other Nomos mechanical watches, the Nomos Glashütte Tangomat watch is equipped with an automatic movement. It is the first automatic watch of the brand.

The standard Tangomat model is equipped with DUW 5001 movement while the Nomos Tangomat Date version houses the Caliber DUW 5101 and the Tangomat GMT watch is powered by DUW 5201 movement with a world time complication.

To keep up with the best quality in Nomos standard, throughout years of hardworks, the brand has reached to 75%-95% of in-house production for all parts of the watch. This German watch manufacturer has strictly maintained its quality and high precision of its own watches.

Nomos Tangomat GMT

The Tangomat GMT watch is one of the bestsellers of the collection. On top of its clean Tangomat dial, a window is displayed at 9 o’clock to show the airport city code based on the time shown by the hands.  There are a total of 24 codes that include the major cities around the globe in 24 different time zones.

The display window at the 3 o’clock position is a 24-hour indicator that tells the local time in 24-hour format. Moreover, there is a running seconds sub-dial at the 6 o’clock position.

Nomos Tangomat Ruthenium Date

Over the years, Nomos Glashütte has introduced a handful of upgraded new additions to the Nomos Tangomat collection. For the Nomos Tangomat Date models, a small date display window was placed under the small seconds sub-dial right at the 6 o’clock position. There is also a special color version for the Tangomat Date model. The new color Ruthenium is a kind of platinum used as a black dial.
