TAG Heuer Watches

The current Link collection of TAG Heuer watches is a resurrection of the 1987's Link assortment. It has undergone many modifications since its inception and the current variants consist of many unique functional elements and distinctive design features. Almost all TAG Heuer watches are embedded with scratch-resistant, anti-reflective, curved sapphire crystals and rounded bezels, which makes them quite legible and clear. Together with the high-tech features and ergonomic design elements, the TAG Heuer Link has been established as a benchmark in the watchmaking industry. The name of the eponymous watch model has been derived from the distinct design of the bracelet, which is in the form of S-shaped links. There are many variants in the TAG Heuer Link collection, like the Calibre S, Calibre 5, Calibre 16, Lady Link and more.

It is a well-established fact that TAG Heuer is often connected to motorsports. This association started with the production of stopwatches for race vehicles and has since then prompted the advancement of many watches. Despite the fact that their role in the world of race cars makes a significant portion of their history of watchmaking, there is much more to the brand than motorsport. TAG Heuer is popular for delivering some of the most iconic chronographs in the world.

The story of TAG Heuer started in the nineteenth century, sometime before the brand was even called TAG Heuer. It was established by Edouard Heuer as the Heuer Watch Company in 1860. The first workshop was situated in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, and it was here that Edouard Heuer worked his excellent craftsmanship into the timekeeping instruments, which are known for their accuracy even today. The brand has come out with many models over the years, which include the Monaco, the Aquaracer, the Carrera, the Autavia and the Link collection.

Combining elegance with comfort, the TAG Heuer Link collection offers a wide range of elegant and highly functional timepieces. The Link series presents itself as an epitome of avant-garde design, which is clean yet charismatic at the same time. It is an important part of the TAG Heuer series ever since its inception in the year 1987. Before the name ‘Link’ became commonplace, the watch was given the name S/El, which stood for ‘Sports Elegance’.

A popular watch designer by the name of Eddie Schopfer conceived the S/El. This particular model featured an unconventional bracelet that was instantly recognizable. It was made up of S-shaped interlocking double links. Each link consisted of two curved steel ingots, which seamlessly integrated with the case. The case itself had rounded edges, which were ergonomically designed to offer ultimate comfort on the wrist. With the S/El, TAG Heuer created the first watch whose recognizable feature was not its dial but the bracelet.

It was revamped in 1999, and the name was changed from S/El to Link. The new name was derived from the characteristic feature of the S-shaped links in the bracelet. The new name was also accompanied by a few design changes. The soft edges of the case and links were squared off slightly, while sword hands were used to replace the ‘Mercedes’ hands. The rounded luminous indexes at the hour markers were replaced with baton indexes, while Arabic numerals were added at the 12, 6 and 9-hour marks. They were offered in both quartz and automatic versions. More than 2 million Link and S/El watches were sold until 2007, which is indicative of the immense popularity enjoyed by these models. These watches were best-sellers in the TAG Heuer watch family.

Since 1914, TAG Heuer has continued to add new updates as well as modern aesthetics to the Link collection, resulting in many exquisite models. Equipped with Swiss calibre machines, the TAG Heuer Link collection offers something for every watch connoisseur. The excellent craftsmanship and exceptional accuracy are displayed in many models which have been designed for men and several other which have been designed specifically for women. The dial of these Link watches comes in the color options of silver, black and blue.

TAG Heuer Link Calibre S Chronograph

The TAG Heuer Link Calibre S chronograph features a revolutionary movement that marks a major milestone in the Swiss watchmaking industry. The Calibre S movement in these models is unlike the first-generation quartz watches, which try to mimic the display architecture of mechanical movements. The Calibre S is a hybrid electro-mechanical movement that combines the best of both quartz and mechanical chronograph functionalities. This not only makes these elegant watches more user-friendly but also offers better readability and more functions. Among its many features is the easy-to-read innovative display, which has two counters and a switch-mode option to simplify reading time. The watch has around 230 components, which offer a mix of mechanical and quartz legacy of timekeeping. The mechanical chronograph module combined with the quartz tractor, power the timepiece and provide advanced performance.

TAG Heuer Link Caliber 5 Chronograph

The TAG Heuer Link Caliber 5 offers a unique look, with a bracelet that is seamlessly integrated into the case. The watch is made entirely of steel and consists of sophisticated finishing, along with brushed and polished surfaces. The case is halfway between a cushion and round shape, with the bezel that features an overlaid ring and cushion base. The watch allows excellent readability as the 41mm case has a white Super-LumiNova coating for the hour and minute hands, as well as baton indices. The model is powered by the Calibre 5 movement and is water-resistant up to 100 metres.

TAG Heuer Link Caliber 16 Chronograph

The TAG Heuer Link Caliber 16 Chronograph is the heaviest in the range of Link series, which offers the best in terms of both elegance and comfort. It features a 43mm stainless steel case, with a black tachymeter scale and a fixed round bezel. The Calibre 16 watches are based on ETA Valjoux 7750 movement, which oscillates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides around 42 hours of power reserve. The Calibre 16 model is also available in a smaller case size, which measures around 40mm, and is powered by the Calibre 18 movement. Some of the TAG Heuer Link Caliber 16 chronographs come with customizable options in the numeral index. The two choices offered are Arabic and Roman numerals.

The Tag Heuer Link Women Collection

The elegant and stylish Tag Heuer Link Women’s Watch is an excellent dress timepiece for women. The watch is touted to have remarkable performance and unmatched precision, owing to its excellent craftsmanship. These watches come in many sporty and elegant options, while some also come with precious metal and diamond embellishments.

The Link’s women collection comes with a 32mm polished steel case, with a fixed bezel and fine-brushed finishing. The elegant bracelet is made of stainless steel and is powered by the Swiss quartz movement. The mother-of-pearl dial features baton-like hour markers made of silver, while the watch crystal is made up of anti-reflective and scratch-resistant technology. The watch is also water-resistant for up to 100-metres.
