TAG Heuer Watches

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer is among the best that Tag Heuer has offered over the years. The entire collection is a celebration of Tag Heuer's deep attachment to sports. Every piece is designed keeping in mind the needs of divers and swimmers. The result of this philosophy has given rise to a range of watches that give impeccable functionality in any outdoor environment. TAG Heuer Aquaracer has drawn inspiration from the classic Heuer diver watch - the Heuer 2000 of 1982. In 2004, the Aquaracer name first came to the market under the TAG Heuer 2000 series as the "2000 Aquaracer" model. The collection was renamed "Aquaracer" in 2005. It remains to this day a favorite of swimmers, divers, and all outdoor enthusiasts.

Introduction

The journey of Tag Heuer Aquaracer started in 2004 with the launch of a new model in the 2000 line. This new watch was called the 2000 Aquaracer. It was quartz-powered, with dimensions of 38mm/ automatic, made of steel, with resistance up to 300m. Using circular lume-filled hour-markers and colored aluminum bezels were the two distinct aspects of the 2000 Aquaracer.

First-generation of Tag Heuer Aquaracer (2005-2009)

The 2000 Aquaracer model was a huge success for Tag Heuer. Continuing the momentum that 2000 Aquaracer gave, TAG Heuer renamed the 2000 range to the 'Aquaracer' series. Within four years, a number of Tag Heuer models were designed for the Tag Heuer Aquaracer range. Some of the most notable models among these were the Aquaracer Calibre 16 Chronograph, Aquaracer Quartz, Aquaracer Automatic, Aquaracer Grand Date, Aquaracer S Calibre, and Aquaracer Chronotimer.

2nd Generation of TAG Heuer Aquaracer (2009-2012)

After the first generation Tag Heuer Aquaracer saw considerable success, Tag Heuer decided to launch its 2nd generation of Aquracer watches. The 2nd generation of the TAG Aquaracer range came packed with some major upgrades in function and design. This specific collection allocated a more serious-looking design to the 500 M range while incorporating more features in the 300 M range. The two ranges that are the most prominent from the 2nd generation are the 500M range and the 300M range. With the 500M, Tag Heuer incorporated upgrades in design whereas, in the 300M range, there were major feature upgrades.

Tag Heuer Aquaracer 500M

The Aquaracer Calibre 5 movement was used in the 500M range with the Calibre 16 movement. It comes with a rubberized bezel, a 3-hand function, and a date feature. The most striking difference was in terms of looks, with the 500M range having a much more chic appeal.

The Aquaracer 500M was released in the year 2009, and the name of the range is self-explanatory of its incredible water resistance, up to a depth of 500m. It was a revolutionary watch for deep-sea divers. On top of these features, the 2009 TAG Heuer Aquaracer 500M came with Green Cross/NDRC logo markings on its dial. This range comes with a sea blue dial, and buyers have the option of choosing between stainless steel strap or a rubber strap.

After several updates in the Calibre 5 and quartz movements, Tag Heuer decided to discontinue production of the 500M range. Production finally stopped in 2015. In its place came the TAG Aquaracer 300m Calibre 5 with Ceramic Bezel.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer 300 M

In terms of aesthetics, the 300M range had much more similarity to the first generation Tag Heuer Aquaracer watches than the 500M range. Aquaracer 300M was launched in Quartz and Automatic 3-hand models, with additional features such as an alarm and a Grand Date function.

The Tag Heuer Aquaracer Calibre 5 movement was incorporated in the Aquaracer 300M range. At the time of its release, this movement was TAG Heuer's standard automatic movement, which was based on the ETA 2824-2. Like the other Aquaracer models, the 300M variant also had a standard 42 hours of power reserve. It ticks at 4 Hz and has a date display window at 3 o'clock on the dial.

The Tag Heuer Aquaracer watches contributed to the solidification of Aquaracer as a premium diving watch, and the Aquarcaer calibre 5 movement played a key role in it. Their robust design was perfectly complemented by a bunch of great features. With the Tag Heuer 300M, the Aquaracer range achieved a new height.

Aquaracer Caliber 16 Chronograph

The first range of Aquaracer Calibre 16 Chronograph featured a 41mm case, and it was launched in 2005. It came in three dial color options, black, blue, or silver. In 2006 and 2007, Tag Heuer decided to add another caliber 16 chronograph to the range. With this upgrade, a Day-Date function and a circular pattern on the dial's outer came to be a part of the watch. There were two options in terms of case diameter. In the Day-Date model, a 43mm case was used. In the date-only model, the case diameter was 41mmpart from the two different dials, the two Calibre 16s come with different chronograph pusher designs. The 41mm model came with round pushers, and the 43mm model had a rectangular pusher.

Tag Heuer Aquarcaer Limited Edition

2020 saw TAG Heuer releasing a limited-edition TAG Heuer Aquaracer x Bamford Watch Department piece. It was a specially crafted watch with a 43mm matte-finish, automatic winding, black dial with hues of orange across the hand and marker outlines. This collaboration gave us one of the finest watches in the entire Aquracer range, with a perfect blend of tough functionality with an air of sophistication.

Tag Heuer Aquaracer ladies' and gents' watches have both been an enormous success. Today we can see people sporting the Tag Heuer Aquaracer from Singapore to San Fransico.
