Garmin Watches

Garmin has been a pioneer in navigation technology since its inception. It engages in five primary industries: aviation, marine, automobile, fitness, and outdoor industries. Garmin Watches are priced differently, with a budget and luxury options available. The brand is a cult favorite among fitness enthusiasts and professional athletes due to its renowned technology and superior products.

Garmin is a mix of the names of said company's founders, Gary Burrell and Min. H. Kao. The brand was founded in 1989 under the name PRO NAV. Initially, it started as a manufacturer of GPS and Navigation Systems. The company made its debut with GPS 100 in 1990 which was a panel-mounted GPS aimed primarily at maritime activities. The product was a huge hit and was contracted by the US Army in 1991.

The brand expanded its reach and introduced its first automotive product in 1997 with the launch of the GPS III. It was the first automotive product from Garmin. The corporation did not rest on its achievements; by 1999, it was ready for a new challenge.

Garmin in Aeronautics

Garmin collaborated with AirCell, an aerial cellular service provider which aided the business in expanding its product line and establishing itself in the aeronautics domain. The firms worked together to make affordable flight communication and navigation available to the general public. The technology allows people to use the same phone and mobile number whether they are on land, at sea, or in the air. It was a one-of-a-kind innovation that transformed the trajectory of integrated GPS navigation and telecommunication systems at the beginning of the 21st century. Garmin established its place in the smart wearable business during the next few years. It is now regarded as one of the leading businesses in smart wearable technologies, ranging from smartwatches to advanced aeronautics and maritime navigation systems.

2003 and Thereafter

In 2003, the company acquired UPS Aviation Technologies, which was eventually renamed Garmin AT. This enabled them to broaden their product offering to include panel-mounted GPS and navigation, as well as integrated cockpit equipment. Garmin entered the watch industry the same year with the Forerunner series, including models 101, 201, and 301. The 201 and 301, as well as all following models, offer a feature that allows the wearer to upload training data to a personal computer. Garmin entered the mainstream smartwatch industry in 2003 and has had significant success since then.

We'll go over some of Garmin's most popular models in the article below.
